Introduction

Building credibility for a high-skill surgical clinic in the Chinese market

WOM Clinic Ginza is a highly specialized plastic surgery clinic known for advanced procedures and technical precision. Unlike clinics focused on light aesthetic treatments, WOM operates in a category where trust, expertise, and credibility are critical decision factors—especially for Chinese patients considering surgery abroad. We supported WOM Clinic by building its presence across Chinese social platforms, primarily Xiaohongshu (RED) and Douyin. Our role was to translate complex medical value into content that is both understandable and trustworthy, while maintaining the seriousness and authority expected from a surgical clinic. The objective was not just visibility, but to position WOM as a credible and reliable choice for high-stakes medical decisions.

Results

From zero presence to trusted surgical brand

For WOM Clinic, our approach extended far beyond social media management. We designed a system focused on building trust at every stage of the patient journey—before, during, and after contact. On the content side, we focused on deep, medically oriented communication. This included detailed explanations of surgical procedures, doctor expertise, and realistic expectations, tailored to Chinese users who actively research and compare clinics before making decisions. By aligning content with this behavior, we positioned WOM Clinic as a serious and transparent authority in the space. From a conversion perspective, we structured Chinese-language inquiry flows and DM communication to reduce friction and improve clarity for potential patients. We also implemented a review and UGC strategy to reinforce credibility through real user perspectives, and supported post-visit follow-up communication to strengthen trust even after the procedure. Unlike lifestyle-driven clinics, WOM’s patients are making high-commitment, one-time decisions. Therefore, consistency between online messaging and offline experience was critical. By aligning digital communication with the clinic’s actual consultation quality, privacy standards, and doctor reputation in Ginza, we helped create a reliable and confidence-driven decision environment. The result was the establishment of a strong and credible presence in the Chinese market—transforming WOM Clinic from having no visibility into a recognized option for serious surgical procedures, with improved trust, higher-quality inquiries, and a clearer path to booking conversion.
