BUTAKIN is a fast-growing ramen brand in Japan, known for its bold visual appeal, strong product identity, and high-energy customer experience. In the restaurant industry, visibility and timing are everything—attention quickly translates into real foot traffic. We supported BUTAKIN through Chinese social media strategy and SNS operations, helping the brand increase exposure among both local audiences and international visitors. The objective was not simply to post content, but to transform the restaurant into a discoverable destination that people actively seek out.


From social attention to real customer traffic
For BUTAKIN, our focus was on converting online attention into real-world customer visits. Food content performs differently from medical or luxury categories—it needs to trigger immediate emotional response, curiosity, and social sharing. Our strategy centered around highly visual, platform-native content designed to maximize discoverability on platforms such as Xiaohongshu (RED) and Douyin, where food trends spread rapidly through user behavior and recommendations. Beyond SNS posting, we helped shape content direction around menu highlights, store atmosphere, customer reactions, and trend-driven storytelling to make BUTAKIN naturally shareable. We also supported review and UGC momentum, recognizing that restaurant decisions are often driven by social proof and peer recommendations. A key opportunity was inbound tourism. As more Chinese travelers search for “must-visit” dining experiences in Japan, positioning BUTAKIN within those discovery journeys became an important growth lever. By making the brand easier to find, understand, and trust across Chinese platforms, we helped expand its visibility beyond domestic audiences. The result was stronger social presence, increased awareness among international consumers, and a more effective digital ecosystem that supports both brand growth and physical customer traffic.
